Volunteer Roles / Job Descriptions 

Preschool CLASSROOM: Lead Teacher 

Lead activities relating to the Daily Bible Lesson and lead the class through their rotations for the day for Pre-K. Younger classes have fewer rotations and more classroom time.  This role is with a 2 person team sharing the responsibilities with the class.  

Preschool CLASSROOM: Assistant Teacher 

Assist with activities related to the Daily Bible Lesson and assist leading the class through their daily rotations. This role is with a 2-3 person team sharing the responsibilities with the class. 

Bible Adventures CLASSROOM: Lead Teacher 

Plan and teach the Daily Bible Lesson to three class rotations per day. This is a rotation stop, not a role where you accompany the class throughout the day.  This role has a team of 2 people sharing the responsibilities of the planning and teaching. 

Imagination Station (science/craft) CLASSROOM: Lead Teacher 

Plan and teach the Exploration Lesson to three class rotations per day. This is a rotation stop, not a role where you accompany the class throughout the day.  This role has a team of 2 people sharing the responsibilities of the planning and teaching.

Elementary CLASSROOM: Adult Guide (K-1, 2-3, or 4-5 grade) 

Accompany a class throughout their day at VBS.  This is NOT a planning role or a teaching role.  The only teaching is to support and reinforce the Daily Bible Lesson through natural conversations and interactions with the children in your class. This role has a team of 2 people sharing and helping lead and supervise the class throughout their day at VBS. Groups will have 3-4 teen helpers and 15-20 students. 

Missions Team:  Assist with activities in the missions rotations. 

Assist the Missions guest speaker for three class rotations per day. This is a rotation stop, not a role where you accompany the class throughout the day.  This role has a team of 2 people sharing the responsibilities of supporting the mission guest and activity for each day.

Recreation: Lead Teacher 

Plan and teach the outdoor games/activities to three class rotations per day. This is a rotation stop, not a role where you accompany the class throughout the day.  This role has a team of 2 people sharing the responsibilities of the planning, set up, and clean up.

Registration Table: Greet families and assist with name tags, pew assignments, and questions on Monday and Tuesday.
