Pastoral Council Representative

 The Pastoral Council is a representative group of committed parishioners of Holy Family Parish who meet once a month to discuss and consult with the Pastor regarding the pastoral issues of the parish and ways in which those needs can be addressed.  The Pastoral Council serves in a consultative role and is governed by the norms established by the Archdiocese of Portland.
 
Duties:

1. To assist the Pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the mission of the parish, worship activities, religious education, community/service activities and evangelization within the parish.
2. To assess the needs of the whole parish and to develop and implement a pastoral plan which will promote the common good of the parish.
3. To foster unity and a sense of community in the parish and to coordinate all parish activities in a manner that best serves the parish.
4. To promote programs and activities recommended by the Pastoral Council, Archbishop, and Archdiocese offices and agencies.
5. Work with the designated parish staff on the ministry council (Worship, Education, Community) to which they are assigned.
6. Willingness to give time to attend Pastoral Council and other assigned meetings as well as solicit ideas and provide constructive input from other parishioners.

1. Open to all persons eighteen (18) years of age or older who are in good standing in Holy Family Parish.
2. A youth member between ninth grade and eighteen years of age may be elected or appointed.
3. Participates in the sacramental life of the church.
4. Willing to commit to a three (3) year term.
