In accordance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, our programs within Children’s Ministry and Faith Formation strive to understand and respect children with sensitivity to their circumstances and values; recognize the dignity of every child; encourage children to value their cultural, religious, racial, and ethnic background; recognize the gradual growth of a child’s knowledge, comprehension, and faith; provide ways in which the children can apply their faith in real life situations; and stimulate internal, prayerful responses to the content of each lesson.
As a church booming with young children, it is essential for Holy Family to provide many activities for our children to learn and live our faith! Below are our main options for Children’s Faith Formation.
Mass can be very difficult for children! Having to sit still, and listen to someone read out-loud can become tiresome for kids who need more movement and excitement.
Holy Family wants to give our children a reason to be excited for Mass. Our Liturgy of the Word program is a place to listen, learn, and ask questions about the readings in our Sunday Mass. We strive to help the children feel comfortable at our church, become interested in our faith, and long to learn more about Christ and being His disciple.
Elementary school is a very critical time in life! This is the period that a person is forming their values. Going through school (especially a public school) can make it difficult to hold onto the religious values that are taught at home.
Holy Family wants to help your children hold tight to those values. Our Sunday School program is a place for your children to learn about our faith in a deeper way, learning about our prayers, creeds, values, and the bible. We strive to teach the children of our church ways in which they can live and love their faith!
Open to second graders (or older) we, at Holy Family, offer a Sacramental Preparation program to help introduce the beauty of our church to our children through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. The children learn about Jesus' sacrifice for us, and the love He gives us every day. We strive to teach our children to live their faith every day and love as Jesus loves.
